National Prep Basketball Poll - Week 6

The National Prep Basketball Poll is compiled by national high school sports experts Jamie DeMoney and Jeremy Plowman and a panel of sportswriters. The preseason national Top 25 and regional Top 10's follow with last season's won-loss records.

The National Prep Poll has been compiled weekly since 1987 and are the only national high school rankings distributed on the Associated Press national wire service.

FEATS OF THE WEEK: Five-time National Prep Poll champion Mouth of Wilson, Va., Oak Hill is back at No. 1 after rolling through the Les Schwab Invitational in Hillsboro, Ore. The Warriors obliterated host Hillsboro, 98-54, in the championship. Oak Hill has won 10 straight since an early season loss to No. 25 Flossmoor, Ill., Homewood-Flossmoor . . . Regionally ranked Jersey City, N.J., St. Anthony, ranked No. 1 in last week's poll, committed 33 turnovers and was upset by regionally ranked Spring Valley, Calif., Steele Canyon, 67-65, in the semifinals of the Torrey Pines Holiday Prep Classic in San Diego. The Friars are playing without injured leading scorer Sean McCurdy (broken foot) for another 4-6 weeks . . . Manhasset, N.Y., St. Mary's vaulted to No. 2 after topping the field at the Beach Ball Classic in Myrtle Beach, S.C. The Gaels were led by North Carolina recruit Danny Green, who was named tourney MVP . . . No. 8 Middle Village, N.Y., Christ the King defeated a field that included four Top 25 teams to win the Academy National Invitational in Houston. The Royals beat No. 17 Los Angeles, Westchester, 49-41, in the final . . . Louisville, Ky., Pleasure Ridge Park coach Dale Mabrey earned his 600th win during his team's 77-64 defeat of Miami, Dr. Krop at the Kingdom of the Sun Classic in Ocala, Fla.
