Star Shooter Five-Star All American Workout Program

PowerBasketball is currently testing the Star Shooter program. We have selected several youth from our 10-under club team to see how the product would work. The players that were selected are above average in ability and dedication and the results that they produce may not be indicative of an average player.

Product Review

The coaching staff has been impressed with the program since receiving the product. We have tested the Shooting Strap® with several players (ages 9 and 10) and found it to be a successful product. The added effectiveness of the Star Shooter practice plan and video make it a complete shooting program. As I told Jay Wolf in a telephone conversation, if a 9 year old can benefit from this program just think what it could do for a high school player.

The creator of the Star Shooter program, Jay Wolf, has provided the basketball community with a fantastic product. The statements of some products guarantee are sometimes questioned. However, in this case, the results are worth more than $39.95 that is charged. That little strap really does work. If you combine the video with the Shooting Strap® along with a solid practice following the Star Shooter program you are investing a small price for a lifelong investment.

A testimony to dedication

Our players were a bit tentative about using the Shooting Strap®. It took a bit of coaxing to get the kids to agree to watch a video about how to shoot a basketball, remember 9 and 10 year olds would rather be exchanging Pokemon® cards than watch a training video. We settled in to watch the video after agreeing to a trade for less "suicides" during practice for a week.

The video stated that we should watch it twice and I was worried that less "suicides" would be brought up. The kids sat and listened as Jay Wolf explained the proper techniques of shooting. Oddly enough, the kids had questions regarding his techniques and we ended up watching the video three times. The kids actually watched more closely the third time and his techniques became a bit more defined for them.

We walked out on to the court two hours later to put it to the test. Each player was able to adjust the strap themselves as they switched out. In hindsight, we should have probably had a strap for each player as the workout extended to nearly an hour for only the two players.

The player's dedication persevered as the week ended. The 9 year old actually was showing more progress than the 10 year old. The second week proved to be a positive result for both players. Both player's shooting percentage have improved, both from the free throw line and the field. The Star Shooter program has proven to us that shooting technique should never be taken lightly. If your players have an "ugly" shot, don't wait, fix it. The Star Shooter program may be right for them.
